The CEMA WILL work for you simply because you are human and have a desire to understand yourself better. Age, gender, and cultural background are factored into the assessment process by default. The CEMA works on the presupposition our brains are hard wired, by intelligent design, to first survive, or self-preserve. Many people experience a "normalized" stunted emotional growth and have not progressed proportionally in their life. In fact, our early relationship dynamics with primary care givers and emotional attunement have incredible influence on our the development of our emotional intelligence and our ability to bond with self and others. Your lifestyle and relational patterns, as well as your cognitive thought processes will be discernible with The CEMA to give a clear picture of why you do what you do like pieces of a puzzle coming together.
The Comprehensive Emotional Memory Assessment (CEMA) was created by Travis S. Gray, a mental health counselor and addiction professional who personally, theoretically, and professionally understands the undeniable and life-altering power of attachment, relational safety, and family of origin dynamics.
His career in mental health led him to work with a wide variety of populations: juveniles with behavioral issues, substance abuse / chemical addiction, dual diagnosis, and dysfunctional family dynamics; all from diverse cultural backgrounds and demographics. Travis has observed the reoccurring commonality in such contrast populations: the need for relational safety and healthy attachments. He has utilized his exposure to various cultures during his world travels in active military service, real life experiences, wide variations of work opportunities, and most of all, his personal experiences with insecure attachment that fueled his desire to have a deeper understanding of himself and others.
The CEMA was born out of a untiring resolve to understand the human psyche and the various influences that mold who we are. This diagnostic tool operates on the most rudimentary principal that we are essentially relational beings. Inherent in the heart of every man, woman, and child lies the fundamental need for Truth, context, identity, purpose, hope, security and emotional coaching. The assessment works by evaluating the ways that we interact with the world around us and how we perceive others and ourselves, all of which is filtered through our schema and emotional memory.
This diagnostic tool is designed to measure 10 different dimensions of how you perceive yourself, others, and the world around you by:
-Analyzing how and why you relate to others and yourself the way you do.
-Determining why certain emotions are difficult, overwhelming, avoided, or create a feeling of indifference.
-Helping you understand why you feel stuck or hit an invisible wall and you cannot leave bad relationships or jobs.
-Illuminating the ways you continue to re-create emotional pain (usually unconsciously or unintentionally).
-Explaining the contributing factors to the feelings of emptiness, discontentment, anger/rage, and anxiety or depression.
-Providing you with the understanding of why you or loved ones have not been able to escape the clutches of addiction (and cross-addictions) in its various forms.
-Clarifying why you sabotage success, opportunities, and relationships.
-Learning why you have so much difficulty asking for help or receiving love/compliments from others.
-Assessing the possible impacts of both overt and covert trauma and how those effect you toady.
